3rd Gen Tubular K-Members

Spohn Performance 3rd Gen Tubular K-MembersSpohn Performance's tubular k-member sets a new, higher standard of performance and quality. When we designed our k-member, we had several goals in mind. One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, another was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle. Our k-member provides substantial weight savings and frees up a lot of room in the engine bay for our drag race customers, but it also provides the strength, rigidity, and durability for our road race, autox, and daily driver customers as well..... all in one package!

Spohn's tubular k-member features boxed a-arm mounts for maximum rigidity and side load support. Our k-members are gusseted in critical areas to ensure that a weld never breaks. They decrease overall weight, and provide much more room for large tube headers, turbo systems, etc.

Our k-member will accept stock a-arms, or for additional weight loss and performance enhancement tubular a-arms can be added. K-members are available set up for stock style coil springs or in a coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch for additional weight savings. Our jig was built around the factory k-member providing for an exact fit and factory exact dimensions. Every detail of the factory k-member was incorporated, including brake line mounts (there's no "zip tying" of the brake lines with our k-member) and optional front k-member brace mounts.


Build Specifications and Features:

  • 1.50" x .120" wall seamless DOM tubing - one piece formed front hoop
  • 1.25" x .120" wall seamless DOM tubing a-arm mount tubes 
  • CNC cut and formed 3/16" thick steel mounts and gussets
  • OEM style button head locating pins
  • Welded in a special built rotary jig to insure an exact fit and precision welds entirely in the flat position 
  • Includes (6) new 12mm Grade 10.9 k-member mounting bolts and heavy flat washers 
  • Includes all four brake line mounts and new brake line mounting tab bolts and nuts
  • Durable and brilliant powder coated finish, your choice of red or black  
Options: Select your options in the drop down option boxes below. K-members are available set up for a stock style coil spring, or in a coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch. K-members are also available with no motor mount pads for those who will be using a motor plate, or with mounting pads that will accept standard small block, big block, or LT1 motor mounts. We also provide the option of having front k-member brace mounts installed. All 1986-1992 cars were factory equipped with a triangular brace on each side of the front of the k-member to reinforce the front subframe at the steering box mount. These braces reduce flex and cracking of the front subframe and are a recommended addition for any street driven car. If you own a 1982-1985 car that was not factory equipped with the k-member braces, we also offer new triangular braces, make your choice below.

Options for LSX motors: Select your options in the drop down option boxes below. K-members are available set up for a stock style coil spring, or in a coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch. This k-member is for those who are swapping in any Gen III LSX based engine (LS1, LS2, LS6, LS7, etc.), this version will also require Spohn Part #178-971 LSX swap bolt-on motor mount stands. We also provide the option of having front k-member brace mounts installed. All 1986-1992 cars were factory equipped with a triangular brace on each side of the front of the k-member to reinforce the front subframe at the steering box mount. These braces reduce flex and cracking of the front subframe and are a recommended addition for any street driven car. If you own a 1982-1985 car that was not factory equipped with the k-member braces, we also offer new triangular braces, make your choice below.

Available in 4130N Chrome Moly: The ultimate in bullet-proof lightweight strength, 4130N chrome moly tubing construction! Same as above, but constructed from 1.50" x .083" and 1.25" x .095" 4130N chrome moly tubing. Make your choice below.
