Theoretically, it’s possible for almost anyone to make a good valve spring once. Even with rather “loose” manufacturing and quality control standards, they can simply be lucky. But, there is only one way to do it right every time. You must of course begin with the finest valve spring wire obtainable, wind it precisely on modern equipment and employ the special processing techniques necessary for maximum load retention.
