Long time racer Dino Campolito always felt that there should be a more precise way to file fit your piston rings. He used the same method everyone else does; file a little and check the fit, file a little and check, etc.
Finally, in frustration he set about to invent a better system. The "Ringmaster" Ring Filing Jig allows you to remove an exact amount of material from the end of a piston ring. Once the zinc-plated steel jig is
clamped in a vise or secured to a table, the desired shim(s) (.002"-.050") are secured in place under the ring stop. Then insert and secure the ring against the stop, move the stop plate out of the way and file ring
until flush with ring jig. Kit includes jig, file and shims.
