Meziere's LT1 electric water pump design utilizes the factory housing for simplicity. It is the only pump available for this engine which requires no modifications to the factory housing. This design allows for the factory
flow directions which are particular to these engines. On the LT1 engine, the factory pump is cam driven. Installation of this unit requires removal of the housing, disassembly and plugging of the drive hole, and
reinstallation. From there, the Meziere unit plugs right into the housing. Heavy duty water pump will not fit on LT1 f-bodies without major modifications, but they fit fine on the 1994-1996 Impala SS. Standard water pump
