1994-2004 Mustang V8 X-pipes & H-pipes
Bassani Equalizer X pipes are used to connect your stock manifolds to either stock or Bassani cat-back (or muffler) sections. Bassani uses a stamped X crossover to enhance flow characteristics in their X pipes. This
proprietary X design is far superior to conventional OEM and after market H-pipes, or balance tubes as they are some-times called. Bassani's Equalizer X-pipes are more difficult and costly to manufacture than less
sophisticated H-pipes, but we feel the extra performance gained more than justifies the extra effort. Traditional Bassani X pipes are made from 16 gauge stainless steel. With their new BX Performance line, Bassani now
offers the same unique design, superior sound, and Bassani quality at a more affordable price. These quality products are a fantastic value when compared to common aluminized systems. Each system features aluminized steel
tubing, precision-designed muffler(s) with durable stainless steel interntal construction and a 16 gauge aluminized case. Bassani includes the same high-grade preimum hardware and gasketless ball and socket connectors.
MAC Products offers both a traditional "H" pipe and their new, patent pending, PRO CHAMBER(tm). Split (one each side) manifolds or exhaust headers on any engine need to be balanced to each other. On a V-8 motor for
example, exhaust pulses enter respective collectors at uneven intervals of 90-180-270 degrees of engine rotation. This process hampers the full benefit of any exhaust header or manifold system by the long intervals between
exhaust pulses making balancing of exhaust mandatory for optimum power. Balance tubes between exhaust on opposite sides help transfer exhaust pulses from side to side to smooth out exhaust pulse and flow resulting in more
power and economy. MAC's PRO CHAMBER(tm) goes even further than traditional H-pipes to produce more torque and horsepower by merging exhaust pulses in one area. Merging of all exhaust gasses creates higher temperatures which
creates a boost in exhaust velocity plus lets exhaust gas see both outlets.
MagnaFlow's Mustang Catalytic Converter is designed to do two jobs: Reduce Emissions and Improve Flow. The emission reducing task is taken care of by two high-efficiency ceramic catalysts that use heat and a precious metal coating to burn off harmful elements. Flow improvements are accomplished by utilizing fast-flowing mandrel-bent tubing and incorporating MagnaFlow's Tru-X crossover pipe that replaces the inefficient factory h-pipe. MagnaFlow makes both a 50-State-legal Mustang converter, as well as an off-road Tru-X crossover pipe without converters.
