1998-2002 LS1 F-Body Oil Pans
Canton oil pans are used in just about every type of auto racing today. From street, to drag strip, to circle track, to road race, Canton oil pans provide the consistent oil control while keeping oil levels away from the
rotating assembly which robs precious horsepower. Don't risk your expensive engine on a cheap stock oil pan, insist on Canton!Canton's LS1 F-body (Camaro and Firebird) oil pan features a fully fabricated aluminum construction which is significantly lighter than cast pan designs and uses full road race style trap door baffling for oil control. Works with OEM windage trays (GM p/n 12558253) and pickup (GM p/n 12558251.) Requires remote filter adapter. Shallow 5-1/4" deep, 11" long, 8-1/2" wide sump, for a 6-1/2 qt capacity.
Parts required for Installation: Two -12AN port to -10AN Male Adaptor Fittings, Four -10AN Straight Hose Ends, Two 1/2"NPT to -10AN Male Adaptor Fittings, Approximate 12FT -10AN Hose, and Remote Filter Adaptor.
NOTE: -12AN can be substituted instead of the -10AN as well as
Braided Stainless Steel hose for even more assurance.
Moroso Street/Strip Pans are wet sump pans intended for street-performance machines that occasionally see some track time. They are modified with either a Deep Sump or Kicked-Out Sump for increased capacity
to improve oil control under hard acceleration and to help the engine run cooler. Moroso Street/Strip Pans are designed for simple bolt-on installations in production chassis.
Deep Sump pans offer improved oil control over stock pans because of their increased capacity. Many are specially baffled with a swinging trap door. The one-way baffle keeps oil contained in the pickup area to prevent oil starvation under hard acceleration.
Kicked-Out Sump pans offer increased oil capacity without restricting ground clearance or having the oil too close to the crankshaft. Trap door baffles are also included to provide a constant supply of oil at the pickup under street-performance and racing conditions.
