1998-2002 LS1 F-Body Shocks & Struts

Most conventional shocks are made with shock bodies cut from a piece of steel tubing, stamped internal parts and compromised tolerances. In contrast, Bilstein's shock bodies are precision formed through a unique seamless extrusion process. This provides superior strength along with high finish tolerances that are usually associated with surgical instruments. The finished body is then mated with a solid, induction hardened steel chrome plated and polished shaft, machined valving components and highest quality seals. HAL Shocks has the single best shock available for street, strip, or handling -- this is the shock that can do it all!  Valving adjustments are made with the click of a knob at the base of these billet aluminum shocks (12 settings total), allowing you to adjust to changing special applications from drag racing and road racing to everyday street use. This shock is the dominant force in Super Stock and Stock classes. 

New "Stocker Star" R-Series Drag Race Shocks feature a fixed-firm compression with an adjustable rebound.

The QA1 springs made for the Generation F coilovers work fine for the majority of applications, however, if you already have lowering springs or wish to use a custom rate spring, you're out of luck. BMR spring cups can be installed on top of the adjustable shock collar to allow the use of any stock or aftermarket lowering spring. The cups are made out of  laser cut aluminum and have a machined radiused bevel that matches the coil itself. Sold in pairs.BMR shock spacers install between the shock and the shock mount on the A-arm. These can be used to raise the front of the car without adjusting the spring. Each spacer will raise the car 1/2" and can safely be double stacked to gain 1". Made from 6061 T6 aluminum.  Sold in pairs. 

 

AFCO DOUBLE Adjustable Shocks are the ultimate tool in the chassis tuner's arsenal. The DOUBLE adjustments of both compression and rebound dampening are completely independent — changing the setting of one has no effect on the setting of the other. By allowing full control over both compression and rebound forces, this shock gives the tuner the ability to fine tune every aspect of chassis movement to provide the ultimate in acceleration control and overall driveability. You may be wondering, "What exactly is a Twin Tube?"  The shock actually has a smaller tube inside the body that the piston rides on. This design is used to separate the oil from the low pressure gas chamber to allow the shock to be mounted up-side down and makes the valving more responsive. We also recommend pairing your front drag shocks with AFCO's AFCOIL springs which can be selected with differing spring rates.  We recommend the following as a guideline: • 275-pound springs for 2800-3000 pound cars • 300-pound springs for 3000-3200 pound cars • 325-pound springs for cars above 3200 pounds and above The AFCO Bearing kit makes for easy ride height adjustments for the front shocks, and can also be used in the rear if you are running a coil-over type set up.  One package provides bearings and washers for two shocks.

QA-1's Rear Lower Shock Mount Kit allows for proper orientation of drag race shocks on your 1982-2002 F-body.  Once installed, pinion angle adjustments can be made without putting the bottom of the shock in a bind (and thus damaging the shock) which is a common occurance with the f-body suspension.  Kit comes complete with weld-on shock mounts and Grade 8 hardware.
